Megan’s parents have been acting very secretive and strange lately, and Megan is sure that they’re planning a surprise for her upcoming twelfth birthday. Their news is a surprise, all right, but not the one Megan was expecting. Out of the blue, Megan’s life is about to be turned upside down.

Where did this book come from?
I was listening to the radio one day and there was a programme on adoption. They talked to kids who had been adopted, parents who had adopted children, and mothers who had given up babies for adoption. It was fascinating but nobody mentioned brother and sisters. I got to wondering . . .
